Engineering is where the design is converted
into engineering terms, ready for building or manufacture.
This primarily means the production of drawings
and documents that specify the materials, dimensions, tolerances,
qualities, performance, etc of the individual components that make
up the design. These drawings (CAD 2D or 3D electronic drawing
files) and documents (manufacturing specifications) also form the
basis of budget costing as they are used for the quotation /
tender processes.
Once the design is expressed in engineering
terms, any factory or contractor globally can understand the
information and potentially manufacture the design component in
question.
SOLPONT produces engineering drawings in CAD
software (producing email-able electronic drawing files) and has
experience producing manufacturing specification documents and
quality documents and procedures.
